Will Smith explains why he slapped at the Oscars

 

The well-known Hollywood actor Will Smith has explained the real reason for going on stage and slapping the famous comedian Chris Rock during the Oscar Awards ceremony in March 2022. In the first TV interview after the Oscars, Will Smith said what finally made him slap Chris Rock.

“As you can imagine it was a terrible night,” he said. Many complications and aspects are hidden in this night. But at the end of that day, I was defeated.

He said that I certainly cannot describe my behavior as correct. But a lot happened in me at that time. He was a small child. Who used to see his father torturing his mother.

At that moment, that bubble of anger burst. And I became what I didn’t want to be. He said that it was the anger that was accumulating inside me for a long time.

During the interview, he said that when he went home after the incident. So the nine-year-old nephew was waiting for him. He said that he held Oscar while sitting on my lap. And said why did you slap this person?

Then I realized what I had done. I shouldn’t have gone that far. It should be remembered that during the Oscars ceremony, Chris Rock came on stage to give the award. During which he made fun of Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss.

Will Smith came on stage and slapped Chris Rock in the face. After this incident, the academy awards imposed a ten-year ban on Will Smith’s participation in the Oscar ceremony.
